1.   EXT./INT. SOUTH EAST QLD, AUSTRALIA – DAY

I’m Kai, an Aussie born, Eurasian WRITER, DIRECTOR and STORYTELLER. I got my first camera at eight years old and have been in love with visual storytelling ever since.

I’ve studied Film at QUT, Griffith (BA) and New York Film Academy (Dip). My first “big studio film” was extras casting coordinating on The Portable Door. Since then, I’ve actively worked in the film industry as a camera assistant, editor and colourist, crewing on major network Television Series, Feature Films and Commercials. These diverse roles inform my directing vision – knowing what’s possible and how to achieve it.

Writing & Directing is my passion: bringing fresh, original stories to life. I’d describe myself as a “technical director” – a Nolan meets Edgar Wright – playing with time, beats and unique coverage. My portfolio explores themes of belonging, identity and purpose; sincere and with a touch of magic.
